Why is McDonald's more successful than Burger King?

It depends on what country and area you are situated in.
In my country, Mcdonald's controls more than 50 percent of the fast-food market. It’s not that our food is better, at least not in my opinion.
All fast-food chains focus on a few basic things.

Labour
Speed
Sales

When you visit a Mcdonald's that has these thing under control you can enjoy a full family meal within two minutes of ordering with a smile on the employees’ faces.

If labor is under control the franchiser is happy, since money isn’t going down the drain. The manager is happy since their boss is happy and everyone is working as a team, which is a must if labor is to be under control. Furthermore, the employees are happy since they are neither rushed nor bored.

If all the guests get their food fast it generates happy guests and more guests which is what we’re all about! Furthermore, speed, cleanliness, and a big smile is THE golden moment that Mcdonald's strives for.

If all employees up-sell correctly on all orders. Guests do not fell annoyed about something weird being asked but rather enjoyed by the employee knowing exactly what to match to your specific order. AND the restaurant earns more money.

All these things combined make great experiences for the guests and earn more money for the franchisers, who in turn spend more money on the restaurants.
